In this art gallery we have a lovely selection of bronze sculptures with a blanket-theme of western heritage and wildlife subject matter. All of our bronzes are sculpted using "The Lost Wax Method"- a casting and molding process with over 120 steps to the end-goal. This process is then finished with a beautiful patina (oxide sprays that allow the bronze to rust into its given colour). These patinas give incredible life to the sculptures. Take note of the incredible detail featured in many of these sculptures as well- from realistic human expressions to anatomically accurate animal and human bodies, these bronzes are sculpted by some of the best artists in North America.
The Art of Man Gallery features many semi-precious gemstone carvings, including the sought-after British Columbian Jade. Our beautifully sculpted jade pieces are extremely difficult for the artists to accomplish due to the natural hardness of jade, which is more dense than stainless steel. These pieces take a surgical hand and much patience for the artists, as they must use diamond hand tools with much patience to gain any amount of progress. The Art of Man also contains other sought after mediums ex. marble, pink rhodonite, white/black jade, alabaster, agate, petrified wood and more.
The Art of Man is home to many acclaimed illustrators of portraits & paintings across Canada. Our gallery consists of two painting mediums (acrylics and oil), as well as two types of painting source (board and canvas). The gallery is home to beautiful depictions of wildlife and landscapes with the use of vibrant colurs and realistic portrayals of nature-themed portraits. We also feature the method of ‘plein eir’ painting- where artists are inspired and paint on location using fast, dynamic paint strokes. This art gallery also contains graphite illustrations. There are an abundance of options for our customers!
In the gallery there is an abundant selection of Inuit serpentine and soapstone carvings. The majority of these beautiful sculptures originate from the Cape Dorset/Bafin Island area of Nunavut, above the treeline.
Our gallery is home to works from some of the most well-known acclaimed Inuit artists in history. The stone works are often depicted as animal or ”transformation” subject matter, with beautiful stories that we can provide with each piece that is sold.
Our art gallery features many beautiful wood-carved works of carpentry from the coast of British Columbia. Tribes include: Nuu-Chuh-Nulth, Coast Salish, Tshimshuan, Haida, Qiatsing and more.
All carvings are made from Red/Yellow Cedar wood, with a lovely selection of Native masks as well as a totem pole and talking stick. We also feature several rattles in our showcase.
